 A District level Award Ceremony for winner Schools under Swachh Vidyalaya Purakskaar 2021-22 was held at Conference Hall, District Administrative Complex, Nandini Hills Samba, here today.

The winning Schools  include 8 in overall ranking and 22 in sub categories.  

The District Administration Samba, under the supervision of the District Development Commissioner had registered 421 schools  for the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskaar 2021-22, an initiative of the Ministry of Education. The schools were registered on Swachh Vidyalaya Portal for evaluation of 6 parameters viz. Water, Toilets, hand-washing with Soap, Operation and Maintenance, Behaviour Change & Capacity Building and Covid-19(Preparedness & Response).

The external Evaluation by engaging 51 Evaluators for 421 Schools was also done.

A 8 member Committee headed by Dy. Commissioner Samba as a Chairperson and Chief Education Officer Samba (Member), Chief Medical Officer Samba(Member), Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Division Samba(Member) and four nominated members(03 from Education Deptt. & 01 from NGO Muskaan Foundation)was framed by DDC Samba. The district level Committee evaluated & selected 30 best performing schools (08 in overall and 22 in sub categories).

 The winning schools were awarded certificates under the guidance of the DDC for their performance in maintaining cleanliness, proper sanitation and hygiene.

Those present in the ceremony included Chief Medical Officer Samba, Chief Education Officer Samba, Representative from NGO Muskaan Foundation, Principals of Schools (Govt.& Private) and HOIs of the winning schools along with the Samagra Shiskha Team.

On the occasion, the Speakers threw light on the importance of such kinds of programmes. The CMO Samba highlighted the importance of cleanliness and segregation and disposal of waste.

The CEO Samba impressed upon all the Schools not to stop here and  focus on the improvement of the parameters which are not upto the mark.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Chief Education Officer Samba.
